Italian Lakes Agenda - Please Comment

It's been a while since I've posted in the forum - I hope everyone is well!

I am planning a visit to the Italian Lakes (via Milan) and wondered what experienced travellers thought about the below (we will have a rental car):

Day 1 - Arrive Milan (I've been there before so don't plan on staying this time)

Day 2 - Drive to Como and stay at the Hotel Bellagio

Day 3 - Bellagio

Day 4 - Drive to Barbaresco and stay at the Hotel Vecchio Tre Stelle OR
Drive to Castiglione Tinella and stay at the Albergo Castiglione

Day 5 - Castiglione Tinelle/Barbaresco - Langhe

Day 6 - Drive to Cinque Terre and stay at the Villa Accini OR at the B&B Il Giardino Incantato (Monterosso al Mare)

Day 7 - Cinque Terre

Day 8 - Return to Milan

I should say that based on TripAdvisor it looks as though for Day 6 the B&B would be a better option than Hotel Villa Accini.

When are you going?
Are you aware of the disaster at Monterosso?

Unless you've been to any of these areas before (and I have), I think this is too much moving around, especially for a short trip. I would go to Lake Como or the CT but not both. I'd leave in the Langhe Valley, but add more time there.

Keep an eye on the recovery/repair efforts at Monterosso and Vernazza (which is currently closed to tourists).

Thank you for the replies - I suspected we might be trying to do too much. The aim is for spring 2012 ... I will read a bit more online around the mudslides in CT to see if there is any indication around when it might be back open to tourists.
