Congratulations, Brittany_Ann! Can you tell us how much time you will have in Italy?
I would fly into Venice and out of Naples.

Enjoy your visit.
ROME: I highly recommend the restaurant Antica Pesa, as well as a café that is all locals (can't remember the name of it for the life of me) but it is directly across from the Colisseum. If you get dropped off in front of the Colisseum you can walk up the hill across the street from it (2 min walk) and the restaurant is at the top. PHENOMENAL views of the Colisseum lit up at night, and delicious food.
VENICE: i don't know where you're staying, I stayed at the Gritti Palace and very much enjoyed dinners on the Grand Canal
AMALFI: Again, not sure where you're staying but you must have dinner or at least drinks on the terrace of Le Sirenuse in Positano. Did not enjoy Ravello at all. Skip it. Loved Capri & Positano!!!
How much time d you have? Have you bought tickets yet? Landing in the middle then gong north and then south makes little sense. I would do open jaw flights into Venice and out of Naples. but be prepard for everyplace to be very crowded and really hot/humid.
Be absolutely sure your accommodations have a/c!!!
Are you going this August? you had better get busy now making arrangements!
Oh, and take the train between destinations. A car is useless in Venice of course, and also in Rome. Maybe get a car when you reach the Amalfi Coast. See Europecar or autoeurope for rentals.
Please give us more information on your interests.
In contrast to the previous poster, I loved Ravello, which is up in the mountains overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo were beautiful. The grounds and views from Villa Cimbrone were especially gorgeous.
I recommend Ristorante da Ivo in Venice. It is tiny, romantic and has wonderful food. It is in the Sestiere of San Marco and is accessible on foot or by boat.
Take the elevator up the campanile of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice. You will have a stunning view of Venice and the lagoon without all the crowds at the campanile of San Marco.
We just booked our trip:
Rome 3 nights
Siena: 1 night
Rapallo: 3 nights
Venice: 2 nights
Any suggestions for places to visit/eat? Also, any suggestions for what to wear. I am into fashion, so I don't want to wear sneakers, but also won't wear heels (because of all of the walking). THANK YOU!
As I mentioned in my previous post, I recommend Ristorante da Ivo in Venice. It is tiny, romantic and has wonderful food. It is in the Sestiere of San Marco and is accessible on foot or by boat. It was our favorite meal in Venice. www.ristorantedaivo.com
I would also recommend Ristorante da Raffaele in Venice. It is perfectly situated if you want to have an evening gondola ride before dinner. The restaurant has a canal-side terrace where you can have dinner, and there is a gondola station almost next to the restaurant. We had made an 8pm dinner reservations several weeks before, requesting a canal-side table. We arrived around 7 and secured a gondola for a ride (at my request, through back canals then onto the Grand Canal before returning). My boyfriend got us drinks from the restaurant for our ride, a Venetian spritz for me (I'm now almost addicted), we had our ride, returned, went to our waiting table and had dinner. The food was very good, and we were seated near honeymooners. Just so you know, the restaurant is not affiliated with the gondoliers. www.ristorantedaraffaele.com
If you want dinner with a view from above, you could try the Terrazza Danieli, which is on the roof of the Hotel Danieli and has a splendid view of the lagoon, the Giudecca, the Grand Canal, etc. It is very expensive, but the food was good. We had a rail-side table there and a reservation made several weeks ahead.
I don't know where you are staying in Venice, but I have enjoyed the Westin Europa and Regina, Hotel Danieli and Luna Baglioni. Of those 3 the Westin was my favorite.
There are so many wonderful things to see, you will have to be a bit more specific regarding your interests, e.g. art, architecture, history, churches, pretty views, etc.
I am into fashion too, but during the day I usually wore my gold Coach sneakers because they are very sleek and not bulky. My feet are narrow and I can't find cute slip-on walking shoes because they are too loose. At night when walking to a restaurant I wore patent leather peep-toe wedges with about a 3-in. stacked heel. I took black patent and nude patent. They were Franco Sarto, and the bottom of the sole had a thin rubber covering which helped with all the cobblestones.
