Italian day trip from Nice
We will be staying in Nice for a week and are interested in day trips. We are going to St. Paul de Vence, Antibes, Cannes and St. Tropez. To the west, Monaco, Villefranche, Eze and Rocquebrun.
We have already been to the market in Ventimiglia and spent an afternoon in Portofino. Are there any other interesting destinations in Italy which are feasible to see in a day? What about Camogli?

If this was my trip, I'de do more day trips in the Nice area. There's plenty of neat stuff in the Nice Hinterland (Alps). E-mail me at [email protected] if you want some suggestions (we've stayed there for over 5 weeks since '99 - plus 4 weeks in St Tropez)
I hate that drive to Genoa - the tunnels are very stressful.

You might want to consider a train trip from Nice on the mountain line towards Cuneo, Italy. In 1 1/2 hours you can be at several beautiful villages in the mountains of France and Italy. You can make a circle trip from Nice to Briel sur Roya and over to Ventimiglia and back to Nice along the sea. I especially like the villages of Peille, Peillon, Briel sur Roya and Saorge.

Hi Richard - Camogli is too far for a day-trip, I think - unless you want to spend 9-10 hrs travelling.
A more reasonable option would be Finale Ligure IMO. You could combine it with nearby Noli. I also like Alassio.
Or ... San Remo?
Hope this helps ...
