It' s possible to swin in the dead sea in january?

Me and wife were heading to israel (Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Jericho, Massada, & Haifa in the middle of january. It will be cold? we will need winter clothing? I heard that even in january the dead sea it's still warm enough to swim, It's it's true?.

I swam in the Dead Sea on Christmas Day, 1998. I was in Eilat at that point. It wasn't particularly warm or sunny but it wasn't cold enough to prevent us from going in! Have fun!

Jaime, It might snow in Jerusalem in January, so it's best to have some winter clothing. It helps check weather.com just before you trip.

Dead sea will not be too cold, but even in the summer you can not swim in it (it is too salty, you will float).
Stellamarina, you make a mistake - eilat is at Red Sea; the sea will be cold in January.

In the winter can rain sometimes, but are many nice days, with sun and pleasant temperature. you need a jacket.
