Istanbul Kart--Status as of 2011-2012?

Jump to last reply

I'm chipping away bit by bit for the upcoming details of our Turkey trip (late June/early July). Now I'm on to Istanbul transport.

I was last in Istanbul in 2008. I remember the tram. I remember the funicular. I don't remember a Metro. I don't even remember there being an Istanbul Kart. We used jetons then.

So now I see mention of the Istanbul Kart. I've seen some entries around the web that say, "Don't bother--no one can use them." Then I'm starting to see other things that say, "Hey, it's actually getting used."

Truth time. Need experience only from those in Istanbul in the last calendar year.

Thanks bunches,
AZ
