ISO London Flat w/Washer/Dryer Early May
We are looking to rent a flat (preferably near Hyde Park) that has an in-room washer and dryer and under $220 per night in early May. Anyone have a suggestion? Seems the ones I find have laundry facilities but are not in-room. We found one that fit the bill but cannot get a response from the owner. Thanks!

Have you looked on Airbnb? If you read the listings carefully and pay particular attention to the star ratings above the reviews, you can find what you're looking for, I have no doubt.

try to get a deal on the Cheval chain of serviced apartments
We stayed in Cheval Three Quays and had a washer/dryer.
We did get a deal on price, otherwise we would have chosen one of the other Chevals.

Forget it - the budget is $220 per night or less, the Chevals are lowest in the 220 GBP range. They'd need a complete steal . . . or another service.
To the OP: go on vrbo and start looking. Fish, barrel, shotgun.

Very odd -- the majority of rental flats that have washing facilities have them IN unit - so I'm curious which sites you are looking at.
I agree, Cheval is a total non-starter at your budget. Maybe the one where menachem stayed was cheaper (I doubt £130 a night though) but it is miles from Hyde Park if that is where you want to be based.
vrbo should have tons fitting your requirements -- though it is only 3 months out so you are cutting things close.

Booking.com has a washing machine option in its Room Facility filter, on the desktop version; I don't see it on the mobile version. There are a few properties (mostly apartments) in Hyde Park that fits the criteria.

What about those laundry places which will do your laundry for a price?
It might be less than a higher-priced rental that has a W/D.
One thing about those combo washer/dryers. They work but have low capacity and take hours and hours to finish.
They use really hot water and then after it drys, the clothes come out piping hot.

I did mean to ask earlier . . . You say you want to stay near Hyde Park . . . That is a HUGE area cutting across about 10 different neighborhood.
South Kens, Knightsbridge, Mayfair, Marble Arch, Lancaster Gate, Paddington, Bayswater, Queensway, Notting Hill, Kensington, and even Earls Court. Some are much more convenient than others.
Do you have a more specific area are in mind - and are you open to other parts of London?

Speaking of which, some opinions about neighborhoods?
I'm looking at apts. in the following areas:
1. A few blocks NW of the Green Park tube
2. A few blocks NW of Gloucester Road
3. A place just a block or two south of Hyde Park, about 400-500 meters east of The Albert Memorial
4. A place on Sloane Ave., a block or two away from King's Road.
Which are the most convenient to restaurants, shops and also transport links to the usual attractions in London, like Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, St, Paul's, etc.
I stayed in The City last time. This time want to stay around Hyde Park but will have some first-timers to London along so would have to take them to the usual sights.

scrb11: all of those neighborhoods are very nice and most are in quite convenient areas. Any would be good for first time visitors.
Acxtually - Sloane Ave might be my favorite of the 4 but I'd be happy in any of them.

janisj We are open to any Hyde Park neighborhoods as I am a runner and my husband a photographer/blogger. We've been to London before but this is the first time we'll be spending more than 2 nights there. We thought it would be a perfect location for both our hobbies. Although we are open to staying near other London parks.
As for the budget, that's not set in stone. Having previously worked in hotel management, I don't find accommodations very exciting and would rather spend more on other things than a place to sleep. That being said, we know we may have to spend more to get the location and the in-room washer/dryer. Was just hoping someone on here would have an exact suggestion within that budget, location, etc.

The husband is not so flexible. lol In our UK travels we've found that some places have a washer only (again fine with me but he still talks about his clothes stretching out too much when we stayed in Cornwall last Spring and had to dry our clothes on the auger). haha
We've done the touristy things in the past and this trip we will be enjoying the food, drink, markets, and live music for a few days before heading down to Brighton and Dover. This is the first time we've traveled by train (always by car in the past) so we are packing ultra-light and that's why the laundry facilities have been a priority.

It sounds as if your husband is very fussy about laundry, which is not a criticism, I am as well. I hate the combo washer/dryers which is what you will find in most flats in London.
The dryer setting "works" on the extraction process. Not usually a disaster but clothes usually have to be hung for awhile or, if too dry, need major ironong intervention. If a tumble dryer is important, be sure to specify that.

OK w/ your last post . . . <u>forget</u> about getting a washer/dryer. The VAST majority of holiday rentals will have the combo variety that are dreadful when it come to the drying bit. (plus the instructions are always in Hieroglyphics and you may end up boiling your clothes 
)
Even IF you rent a place w/ a washer/dryer, take your laundry to a launderette where they do a wash/dry/fold service. You (and your husband) will be much happier.

Yes he is a little, Cathinjoetown. 
We've not stayed anywhere that had a great dryer anyway so perhaps I can persuade him into the launderette service as janisj suggests. That makes lodging so much easier!
