I have booked a room at Relais Bosquet with a view of the tower. In my (endless) research I came across a comment that seemed to indicate the tower is only lit for 10 minutes. Is this the case? If so, is there any reason to book a room with a view? We are only there the one night (staying outside Paris for 3 nights) and may not even be in the room at 10:00! Thanks again for any insight!
Is the eiffel tower only lit up for 10 minutes at 10 pm?

at dusk, the eiffel tower is lit up. very golden, all the way up and down the structure.
but for 10 minutes, every hour on the hour, there is an additional sparkling twinkling gorgeous white light show that entertains all the viewers.
very romantic. we loved it.
go to tour montparnasse one evening up to the restaurant/bar for a drink or dessert. worth every penny to see the city from the tallest building.
The tower is lit from dusk to 1 AM. It "sparkles" for the first ten minutes of every hour (thanks to thousands of flashlamps mounted on the tower), but it is lit continuously whether it is sparkling or not.
