Is one night in Galway enough?
I just wanted to know if one night in Galway City was enough? This is my plan so far as I am traveling to Shannon on Saturday night July 23rd and will be comming back on Wednesday August 3rd.
Sunday July 24th- lunch in Ennis and off to Doolin for the night. Plan to explore Cliffs of Moher and hit the pubs for music at night.
Monday July 25th- Drive up to Galway City spend the day and night in Galway.
Tuesday July 26th- Drive to Dublin spend day and night in Dublin
Wednesday July 27th- Dublin
** Do you all think that I am crazy to drive from Galway City to Dublin in one morning people are telling me it is four hours which I do not mind at all. But should I spend more than one day in Galway City? I figure Galway is not that far from Doolin so we should have most of the day to hang out. I also know Dublin might be overrated but I really wanted to spend time there. From Dublin, I thought about heading South towards Glendalough and Kilkenny for Thursday and Friday nights)
Sat-Sunday nights I wanted to spend in the Cork area as I have a friend who lives in Cork City.
Monday off to Killareny and then Dingle for the night and part of next day.
Tuesday off to Limerick where we will spend our last night.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I am actually a big fan of Galway, much more so than Dublin and certainly Killarney. I try to stay at least a day and a half minimum in Galway each time I go. The pedestrian mall is a lot of fun, and the town has an eclectic/medieval/college vibe to it, especially at night. I usually spend at least 3 hours alone in Kenny's Bookshop!
Rest assured, though, that whatever choice you make, it will be the correct one. Enjoy!

Just to let you know that you will be coming to Galway for the first day of Race Week - that will mean packed streets - great atmosphere and fun. But lots of people. Accommodation can be a problem later in the week but Monday so far in city hotels is Ok.
You can make Dublin in 3.5/4 hours and leaving at 9 a.m. will have you there for lunch. Good to plan to stay in centre of Dublin for immediate access to sights. www.beourguest.ie
Races in Galway on Monday 25th start at 5 p.m. or so so Traffic around this time may be heavier - however be assured it is usually well managed.
