Is it better to take train or a plane from Venice to Prague?

I'm asking this for a friend of mine who is contemplating such a trip. After some time in Venice, he and his wife want to go to Prague. Is it more convenient to make it to Prague from Venice's train station or from its airport? Any advice would be appreciated.

A quick check (because I was curious) shows that Alitalia offers direct flights from Venice to Prague for only $47 USD (in June for example). For that price, I'd fly for sure.

And train will take over 13 hrs with 2 transfers.

Your friends can familiarize themselves with train schedules all over Europe by looking at www.bahn.de.

Hi Wanderful
did a quick check and found out Wizz Air serves Venice-Prague route 3 times a week. One-way tickets available from $19. See for yourself here: http://www.whichairline.com/flights/venice/prague

A train would be more civilised and less stressful, with a stopover opportunity in Vienna.

Venice to Vienna by direct sleeper train, booked at www.trenitalia.com. From 39 euros with a couchette or 69 euros with a bed in a 2-bed sleeper.

Vienna to Prague by daytime EuroCity train, booked at www.oebb.at from around 19 euros.

Centre to centre, not airport to stressful airport, and it'll save a hotel bill too.
