Is Cluny to see the abbey worth the trip?
Will be in Dijon during the summer and was wondering whether it is worth the time going to Cluny. Hs anyone done that who could make a suggestion? Thanks

Hi Davidjac,
I was just there two weeks ago. I wouldn't drive an hour out of my way just to see it, but if you're travelling nearby, I think it's definitely worth a visit.
There is a charge to visit the abbey (3 euro?? -- I can't remember the exact amount). The grounds are lovely and you can really get a sense of what it was like for the monks living there centuries ago. The chapel, living quarters, iron forge, etc. are all on display.
There's also a very small museum and gift shop.
Enjoy your trip.

David, if you don't want to drive too far, go to Citeaux abbey which is 30km South-East of Dijon, not far from Nuits St Georges and the wine coast.
