Is booking a doublebed room okay for 2 adults&2 years old baby

It's my family's first trip to London, UK. I've booked a hotel room, executive double bed room designed for maximum 2 adults, but we are three, me, my wife, and 2 years old baby. I wonder if it's okay to have 2 years old baby with us and sleep on same bed. I've read the hotel policies, but still confusing. They say under 2 years old is free to stay when we use same bed, and we can ask for baby cot or extra bed. Does it mean it's okay to have 2 years old baby in our room and be three guests in that room? or are we exceeded the # of guests and the hotel will refuse to give us a room?
