Do they mix? I'm not talking about late night drinking hours but 5-9ish pm with food and music.
We will be going in 2006 and we have a very well behaved 3 year old. Obviously some establishments for drinking are okay for kids and some aren't (clubs etc). I am just wondering what the standard is in Ireland versus here in the U.S. and Canada.

Most pubs do not allow children in after 5 or 6 pm.
Good to know. As far as restaurants vs. pubs will that be a problem for us to find past 5 or 6 pm?
Restaurants are no problem per se - but I must admist that the Irish are not very tolerant when it comes to kids in restaurants - eat early and don't go to very fancy places unless your child is very very well behaved.
Thanks for the information lawchick. She is very well behaved, but when you're 3 you just never know sometimes
Very different from the U.S. and Canada in my experience. Is it any different from the big city to small villages?
No, the towns aren't that much different.
