Ireland vist, airport transport, lodging in Dublin

We are interested in using Wolfhound Tours to do an Ireland 5 day west trip.

We would have to figure out travel from airport to Dublin and book a hotel for first night. Are there recommendations for transport to and from airport?

Are there locations that we should look at in Dublin to stay first night?

This trip is one my brother and our spouses are doing together and both enjoy being more active than just "touring" thus, we chose this way to travel. We are not interested in renting a car and doing it alone.
Would love to hear from my "fodor-ite" friends! You've helped me so much in the past when we traveled and planned trips.
