Ireland second visit.
need your advice please.
We will be flying into Dublin on 27 June 2014. Rough itinerary: We have 17 days.
1. Pick up our rented car and leave for County Cork.
2. Galway
3. Dublin
Advice for a night or two stay-over from Dublin to Cork and Cork to Galway will be appreciated. Also we can stay in two places in both counties if it is better.
We are two adults.
Thank you!
Erna.
Our first visit to Ireland was to Wexford and Co Kerry. We visited Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula and Cliff of Moher. And of course a few of the smaller villages.

We have 17 nights in Ireland. We have been to Co Wexford and Co Kerry in June/july 2011 and saw the highlights like Ring of kerry, Dingle peninsula and Cliffs of Moher. We will now concentrate on Co Cork and Galway. We fly in to Dublin on 27 June, pick up our rented car and leave for Cork. We may want to stay over not far from Dublin after the long flight. I thought the following itinerary may work, but welcome any advice! Please.
1 night stay over to Co Cork.
5 nights Co Cork
3 nights region Schull
1 night stay over to Galway
6 nights Galway
1 Dublin.
Thank you for your help. I would like to make our booking and would like to hear waht you think.
Thank you!!

Not sure how you are breaking this down with Schull being in County Cork and assuming the other 5 nights are county Cork..
You arrive on a Friday so have you considered a 7 night Sat-Sat Self catering base for the county?
Yes a good idea to split the trip between Cork and Galway (again I assume county) so anywhere between and including Adare and Ennis might work for that night.
Then again are you considering self catering for somewhere, maybe Connemara?
If you do have specific bases or specific type of accommodation? then any extra information might help us help you.

Thank you Tony2phones. We want to concentrate on County Cork and County Galway. We fly into Dublin on 27 June 2013 (14:25). After a long flight, we like the idea of staying the Friday night in Glendalough which is not too far from Dublin. Saturday (later the day) we leave for Bandon, County Cork where we found self-Catering accommodation we like. We plan to stay here for 5 (6?) nights. Then to Galway with a stop in County Clare. Adare or Ennis for 1 or 2 nights. County Galway for 7 nights. Should we split the accommodation in County Galway to eliminate too much driving?
Dublin: 2 nights.
we have 17 nights. Can still change nights, but would like to confirm my accommodation ASAP.
More info:
Yes, I have considered the option of a week in one place, but then we will have to skip Count Clare stay over. I see there are many attraction and would like to stop.
We like self-catering accommodation. For one night we are happy with B&B.
No idea for accommodation in County Galway yet.
Schull won't work. Agree. I thought it is too far from our accommodation for a daytrip, but it is possible.
Thank you!!

Thing with self catering is that 7 days standard rental can be the same price as a 4 day part week.
It makes sense to me splitting the Cork Galway section and I always recommend Clare as a good place to see Irish Ireland (with the reminder there is also an eastern side not just a moonscape and 1/4 miles of Cliff)
Any idea where about's in Galway you fancy~? what is it you want to see/do whilst there?
