Ireland Golf

We are a family of 4, sons ages: 16 yrs. & 19 yrs., travelling to London in July for a few days before going to S.W. Ireland for golf. We have 11 days total and we have plane tkts. in & out of London. Any advice is appreciated, esp. on golf tour packages, (we'd rather not self-drive), and transporting of clubs. Thank you!

there is a thread on irish golf in the latest cigar afficianado. you can see it on line. as far as self driving goes, don't be afraid to try it. we have driven all over europe, including the u.k. and ireland and have found it very rewarding.

have fun

You might try Jerry Quinlan's Celtic Golf, tel. 800-535-6148; or J.D. Golf Tours Ltd., tel. +353 61 364000 (Ireland), e-mail [email protected]; or Go Ireland, tel. +353 66 9762094, [email protected]; or Destination Ireland Golf, tel. 800-832-1848, www.allgolftravel.com; or Irish Golf Tours Ltd. tel. +353 51 381728, [email protected]; or Golfing Ireland, tel. +353 (0)18726711, www.golfing-ireland.com; or Golf International, tel. 800-833-1389, or OwenOak Int'l Golf, tel. 800-693-6625, www.owenoak.com.

Hope you can find what you want from these possibilities.

Those golf tours that Jinx lists can be very expensive, especially if Old Head and/or Ballybunion are on your 'menu.' Your sons will absolutely love Links Golf, I guarantee it!

Once you are settled in a location, ask your Hotel Concierge (or B&B Operator) about transport to nearby Golf Links. Check out my http://groups.msn.com/gate5 for some Golf links suggestions.

Aer Lingus charges a flat fee for golf bags: I think it's $20 / TransAtlantic flights.

You should be able to find many golf tours for Ireland.

You can't find better gold than the links courses in Ireland!!!

Enjoy!!!
