Into Barcelona out of Madrid !! Help!!?
My husband and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary with a trip to Spain . We would like to fly into and out of Madrid . We would like to hit San Sebastian and Mallorca or Ibiza and then spend a couple days and either Barcelona or Madrid . We only have 8 days .... We are huge foodies love to Explore cities , shopping , art , also love being active and the beach. Are these good cities
Any recommendations of how much time to spend in each place and does this seem feasible?? Ibiza /Mallorca !?!!
Any info much appreciated !

Dinner at Il Paradiso in Palma de Mallorca is an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed 3 dinners in May, and it's all its cracked up to be.

If food is a priority, San Sebastián is a must. The food capital of Spain and arguably all of Europe. 16 Michelin starts and four of the world's best restaurant in and immediately around town (Arzak, Akelarre, Mugaritz, Martín Berasategui).

The best part of the food culture here is nevertheless the quality of the food you'll get in any place you happen to walk into: http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandst...rink.shopping2
All about going for the famous pintxos in San Sebastián, gourmet-style goodies for 2-3€/piece: http://www.todopintxos.com/home/home.php?lang=en
In fact, all of the Basque region is food heaven: http://www.euskoguide.com/food-drink...r-restaurants/

Slow down (and ditch the exclamation marks.) Splitting your time between Barcelona and Madrid will be a rush, never mind all the side suggestions. Leave the islands to another trip. The San Sebastian/Bilbao region is very worthwhile and could be matched with either Madrid or Barcelona but not both. Madrid is closer. And the suggestion to fly into one city and out of another is practical except you didn't say where you are coming from. To make it work you must use a multi-city search function, not one-way tickets. Bilbao has an international airport although trans-Atlantic flights will require changing planes at a European gateway airport.
