Input on Switzerland Plus itinerary for August - September

Jump to last reply

We would like to experience the Alps and to see some historic places. We have two boys (6 and 8) so I think they will be interested in seeing a castle or two. They would also love to do a ropes course (there is one in Interlaken, I think, that allows smaller children). And we would love to do some hiking or biking. We have never driven in Europe and our kids have never been to Europe so I think it might be easier for us not to have a car. Although we are open to renting one.

Can you please see if the following itinerary is reasonable? We do have to fly in & out of Zurich or Munich. Other details can be changed. We are not set on seeing the Swiss Alps, so Lauterbrunnen can be substituted by a different location although Lauterbrunnen sounds very nice to us. In addition, we are open to substituting Colmar with a different city / place. Colmar appleals to us because it is a picturesque town and we can see a castle nearby. My concern is a it is a bit far from Lauterbrunnen. What do you think?
