It's exhausting hunting through all these posts!
My adult DD and I are traveling back to Italy next April. I want to save money and take my rookie dip into apartment renting. I would really love some recommendations. For both actual apartments and then agencies you have worked with that you liked.
My DD's DH may join us for 2-3 nights, so we need to accommodate for that. Ideally, a two bed/two bath. Could live with 1 bed, sleeping in loung/living arrangement, also 2 bath preferable. Ground or 1st floor preferable (I have bad knees), but would certainly love a high floor with a view and a lift. (This is not a deal-breaker. I can make it up a few flights of stairs a couple times a day, really.)
We don't need to be city center, if it is cheaper on the "outskirts". We stayed at hotel last time near Presidential palace and liked the area. Very quiet at night. But we're willing to stay anyplace safe and accessible.
I would also like to stay near/under $1500/week. The less expensive the better. ![]()
Thanks to all who take the time to post!

I liked the looks of the one Kristina rented. You can read about it in her first Rome trip report.

Hi Sarge-
You can see it on my website:

Look at the Rome 2008 trip.
I just got back from by 2nd week spent there, so make sure you look at the right trip!
For this past trip, we rented another apartment, this time in Trastevere. It was beautiful, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, but noisy in the bedrooms fronting the street.
My current trip report is also on my website and here on Fodor's. Just click on my name and look for the "Mozzarella, Museums, and Macchiato" report.
Here's Ted's trip report too.

Has anyone else had experience with rentalinrome??? They seem to have a number of apts I'm interested in at good rates. Would like to know if they are dependable, etc.
Are there any other websites I can check to see references good/bad for these places?
thanks!
Have you tried slowtrav?
sarge, I used rentalinrome to rent this apartment last Christmas with my mom, aunt and cousin:

I usually take less expensive accommos but because of mom and aunt went a bit nicer, a bit bigger. The agent I dealt with was Michael Smith and he was great to work with. I think Rental in Rome represents quite a wide variety of apartments so you need to do your homework. The owners of our apartmentkeep their place up well and everything was as expected--old Rome, though, so full of "character:

Have a wonderful trip.
Definitely direct you to my friends at www.leisureinrome.com I talk them up all the time because I use them for a constant influx of visiting friends and relatives (and sometimes surprise my husband with at home vacations) and they provide excellent, ENGLISH speaking service, and are very responsive. They also have a great selection and many things on special offer, so their site is so worth a look....And really, they are some of the best out there. Happy travels!
