I'm entering into panic mode... ONE DAY LEFT!!!!! (translation - Abbynicole is leaving for Austria, Venice, and France on Wednesday!)
Well, the to-do list is getting shorter, but it's still a bit overwhelming. I'm sure most of you know this feeling very well. My pre-trip panic (not about the actual trip - that just excites me - but about getting everything done before I leave) is even more heightened because I am moving to Calgary as soon as I get back in July, so I have to have my entire life packed and organized before I leave!
Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone has any last-minute advice to give regarding my destinations (Paris, Vienna, Salzburg, Venice, and Nice) - is there anything special going on that I should know about, or things that are closed?
You guys have been great answering all my questions throughout this whole planning phase (pretty much October until now) and the other reason for this post is to say "Thank you!"
I will be sure to post a trip report when I return, and though my writing skills are not as legendary as some, I will do my best to make it interesting. =)
Thanks Again Fodorites!

My best last minute advice...buy Mozartkugels! The most wonderful chocolates In Vienna, go to United Chocolates. Buy them in souvenier shops for 3 for about 4 euro, or at groceries or United Chocolates for a bag of 20 for about 5 euro!
Enjoy your trip!!!!

Advice: In France, never pass up a chocolate pastry.
In Italy, never pass up great-looking gelato.
Never been to Vienna, but I'm pretty sure you should eat chocolate.
And keep a journal.
Happy travels, oh fortunate one!

Thanks guys. I'm feeling much better, since I got lots of the important details taken care of yesterday. Pretty much all I have left is to pack my travel bags, which will be easy, since all I have left in my room is what I'm taking with me! Everything else I own is in boxes in the corner of my basement.
So excited!!!!!!!

In the words of the late Douglas Adams, DON'T PANIC.
We're leaving for Italy tomorrow, and I'm starting to get the twitches myself. But getting torqued up before a long flight is never good. Just get some rest tonight, double-check your to-do-list in the morning, then put your plan into motion. And most of all, ENJOY!
My one piece of last-minute advice regarding Venice is this: don't think in terms of sites to visit within that magical city. Venice itself is the site! Dive right in, get as lost as you can, and have a blast finding your way again.
Looking forward to your trip report!
