Chris, Thanks we are heading to Malta Feb 16 - 22. Will be there for Carnival. Staying in Sliema at the Preluna. Please advise.
Preluna is good but a bit worn, its the second tallest building in malta. It is very central, perfect for this time of the year.
Carnival very popular and loud, lots of beer around.
Many other things to do at this time, we are heving great weather too.
I'm going in June and planning on staying at this hotel...Il Palazzin Hotel in St Pauls Bay. Do you have any advice or info on this hotel? Also, are rental cars available in the airport? From the research I've done online there's a shuttle that takes you to the car. Are the cars in Valletta or closer?
never heard of palazzin, i will chech it out. Cars are availavle from the major car hires at the airport. Also try wembley garage they are the no 1 in malta or merlin car hire.
i dont like st pauls bay- i prefer to stay in sliema. it's more central, buses pass freuently and its just a short drive from valletta. Mind you its busy and noisy, but more convenient. And its more upmarket then st pauls bay too.
St. Pauls Bay is like blackpool in england, for summer only. Sliema is close to everwhere. But in Malta the longest bus ride is not more than 1 hour.
Chris, Kind of you to offer your knowledge! I am looking at a timeshare, Club Dolmen in Qawra. Do you know anything about this place or its location. There also is a room at the Island Paradise Club at the Radisson Golden Sands resort. They are both a good price for lodging and since my airfare is so much, it would help to balance out the cost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
