Here's a link to my Lo-oo-oo-ng Trip Report from 16 June - 3 July. Flew into Edinburgh, Scotland for two days, then took the train to Stranraer, the Ferry to Belfast and the train to Dublin. Picked up a rental car in Dublin then drove 'round Ireland (Cork, Kerry, Clare, Donegal, and Northern Ireland. Ended up back in Dublin, for my flight home.
Report is at www.IrelandYes.com
and I'm too lazy/busy to do a cut and paste.

I am gonna click right now- just had to pop in and say- YEAH! I can't wait to read it!
Dawn
I know what you mean about getting it done though Bob- I still haven't done the last three days of our April trip and I know that thread is lost around here somewhere!
I look forward to reading it though- currently going through travel indecision right now and hoping your report will jump start me to making some headway (possibility of 3 weeks away next April- Ireland again, cause we love it or is it time to jump into a new (gulp!) country?) Aarrrgh! I must read your report now- to sooth me and make me chuckle!
Wonderful!
Bob- love the intro- still chuckling- maybe as it hits so close to home?
Wonderful and so looking forward to the rest!

Dawn -- Thanks for your kind comments. I should have mentioned that I was only about 1/2 done with the report -- I'll post an 'ALL FINISHED' when I DO get it all done ....
Scotland (AT least Edinburgh and the train & Ferry) was TERRIFIC! Three weeks SPLIT between Scotland and Northern Ireland and Donegal would be MY vote -- with the added advantage that your husband could get a break on the a LOT of the driving. If you flew home from Belfast, UK Car Hire is MUCH less traumatic (and you avoid the CC Insurance waiver hassles!) then in the Republic.

Very entertaining. I wish there were more trip reports like yours here. A separate section for them would be good on Fodors.
Bob you had such a nice trip. I went to Edinburgh and Roslyn a few years back and thought it was stunning. We had to leave the chapel as a wedding was booked.
I was in Ennis myself at the old ground this weekend. I may try your place as its a bit cheaper and I need to go a few more times in the next 3 months.
I hope to see you next trip for a pint. My mum took all my time in June and July this year.
Lovely pics!
Thanks to all, for the kind words and tolerence.
As I've said, I put so much time and work and detail because it keeps me distracted from lamenting how LONG it will be before the NEXT one ....
SiobhanP:
We will definitely need to meet one day for at LEAST one drink -- 1 to say "Hello", 1 to celebrate your engagement -- and maybe, since I can only manage a trip to Ireland once a year, and seem to only get to Dublin, every OTHER, 1 to toast your wedding!
I'm suprised you even had the time to TEXT, given work, your Mum's visit and your recent engagement. Sorry my proximity didn'y divert the rain -- it USUALLY works.
Bob
Thamnks Bob it was also My B-day that week and N took us all to a beautiful dinner and a party later that weekend. I had suach a fun week
We will toast next trip!

Had a quick peak and it looks like I will be in for a treat tonight when I will have the time to read and enjoy the entire report.
Thanks for posting.

SiobhanP:
DOH!!! Your BIRTHDAY, too -- and a significant one, as well! I CAN'T possibly drink THAT much -- being the 'light-weight that I am -- we may have to do this on the 'Installment Plan', over MULTIPLE visits!
Happy Belated Birthday.
Bob
