Has anyone done this on Langjokull? I'm told there won't be much snow - mostly ice (and dirt I suppose). Since it is so expensive, I don't want to go ahead with this unless it is worthwhile. I was picturing mounds of fresh snow but not likely. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

We'd been considering doing this also, didn't know there wouldn't be much snow. And yes, it is expensive, will try and find out some more and get back.
Hi Geetika - we have decided to go for it. We talked to two people who did it at the same time of year and said it was definitely a highlight. We're going with Mountaineers of Iceland. Let me know what you find out!
torontobelly, its been pretty busy this past week and I haven't had time to check on this. When are you going there, we'll be there July 2nd week. Yes it is expensive, but I really want to go, how often does one get on a glacier? We went trekking on Mendenhall glacier in Alaska a couple of years back, again no snow, only ice, some of it dirty too, but it was a big high. Let me know how your trip goes...
