I am going to Iceland from July to August. I wanted to take the ferry (smyril-line) from Iceland to Norway through Faroe Islands. And then drive from Bergen to Oslo and then down to Copenhagen.
Someone told me it was easier to take the ferry from Iceland to Denmark.
Has anyone done this trip or have any other suggestions of how long this takes...how many days to spend in each place...or what's feasible.
I am planning on giving the last leg of this trip to northern Europe. SO i will have around 10 days or so.
Any help or suggestions?

It's not easier going to Denmark than Bergen, but you can go to Denmark via Shetland if you don't need to visit Norway.

Are you bringing your own car, it might be better going by train or bus from Bergen to Copenhagen if not. Since going in July/August I suggest you take a catamaran boat thru the fjord from Bergen to Sogndal. From there take a mountain bus across Jotunheimen nat. park to Otta before continuing south by train to Oslo and Copenhagen.
looks like the ferry timetable is different in July than the rest of the year, Denmark direct is the place to go.
What about flights from Iceland to Bergen? Who flys there? Do you book the flight when there?
Icelandair flies from Keflavik to Bergen as well as Oslo and CPH.
Perhaps you can fly to Bergen, travel in Norway (the train ride from Bergen to Oslo is one of world's most scenic), and then take DFDS Seaways ship (overnight) to CPH, and then travel in DK.
Then you can fly back from CPH (or Stockholm) to USA via Iceland on Icelandair.
If you check out Icelandair.com you'll find that it flies to several cities in Europe.
