I need to plan a trip to spain france iceland. The trip i wish to be for 15days minimum. Need to know about what best itinerary it can fit into and what should be the flow of the trip. For example, the trip should start from which country till the last leg. I m based in mumbai and will fly to and from from mumbai. Planning for a trip at the start of august 2017.

15 days for three destinations only gives you about 12 full days on the ground. You could easily spend a month each in Spain and France a 10 days in Iceland. You will neeed to decide how much time and money you have for this trip than do some research as to what you want to see

This is not an itinerary-planning site. That's up to you to figure out with the help of guidebooks and websites. That said, 15 days total (minus the time to get from country to country) is not enough time to do justice to three very separate, unique countries.

@StCirq : Dear Mam, I never asked building an itinerary here. My post was to take an idea about the countries mentioned if you can go through again. While, with Guidebooks I have, I am going through some of them, and regarding websites, I found this one which is loaded full of travel dairies, and hence posted here in anticipation of a helpful response. Your response was indeed of a great help and knowledge pertaining to this website. Thank you for your time.

Beware the loan shark posting as William19.
To the original poster: If money is a concern, forget Iceland. While a couple of budget-level airlines are based there, everything else is expensive. Anyhow, you really can't spare the time -- flying there and back from continental Europe would cost you most of a day each way.

We spent 24 days in Iceland and thought a few more would have been perfect.
With that short a trip, I'd stick to one country. Read guidebooks for all 3 countries, pick the one that most appeals to you.
If you then post a tentative itinerary, readers will be happy to tweak it for you.

I have posted a tentative itinerary for the above countries. If any one can suggest or give inputs over the same will be very much helpful to me. Also please suggest hotel stay and self drive options in Iceland.

If you haven't yet booked hotels in Iceland, I think you're already in trouble.

There are no hotels at Jökulsárlón that I'm aware of - it's kinda in the sticks.

Driving from Jökulsárlón back towards Reykjavik for a Golden Circle Tour makes no logistic sense to me.

Very unlikely you'll see any auroras in early August.

I suggest you get yourself over on TA for you Iceland questions - lots of help from locals over there.

Thank you for your input. We will consider all of the facts and decide accordingly over the same. We hav shorlisted extreme iceland tours a couple of them though. If you can help with other travel advisors or tour advisors will help me. Also we are planning for a day of self drive if not more, if you can also help me with that would be great'. @Melnq8

Sorry, I cannot help with tour operators. We rented a car and self-drove for 10 days.

If you haven't already, you might look into the Foss Hotel at Glacier Lagoon, located between Skaftafell and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. It's the only hotel I recall seeing near Jökulsárlón.

http://www.fosshotel.is/hotels/fossh...lacier-lagoon/

You are being rather optimistic in planning to drive from Reykjavik to Jökulsárlón in five hours. It's 371 km each way, but it took us nine hours to drive from Hofn to Vik and five hours to drive from Vik to Reykjavik - there are so many things to see en route that the drive takes much longer than the stated time you'll find on Google.

I don't quite understand why you're driving all the way to Akureyi for just an afternoon either.

Why not base yourself around Reykjavik for a few days, visit the Golden Circle & Blue Lagoon, spend some time in the city, then perhaps stay at the Foss Hotel at Glacier Lagoon and make other day trips from there? The best bits of Iceland IMO are between Hofn and Reykjavik anyway. Unfortunately, they're also the busiest, so you may already be too late regarding accommodation.
