Iceland-another itinerary help request

We ( 2 seniors) will be in Iceland August 8-22. Rented a car and will drive the ring road. Have booked hotels but want to fine tune the plans. Here is the plan now:

Reykjavik: 2 nights
Bogarnes area 2 nights
Hofstadir Farmhouse, 1 night
Akureyri, 2 nights
Vogafjos Guesthouse, on Lake Myvatn, 1 night
Vinland Guesthouse, near Egilsstadir, 1 night
Hotel Stadarborg, Stadarborg, 1 night
Hofn, 2 nights
Selfoss, 2 nights
Reykjavik, 1 night

I would like fewer one night stays. But I am not sure how doable the driving is. Any suggestion on where I might combine some nights ? My choices were somewhat determined by availability. We want to see the natural sights and do some hiking. We would like a variety of types of lodging but especially like the country or farm stays.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
