Going to Iceland in late April. We are arriving at 6:30 am and will be there Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We are planning to rent a car. The day tours we've priced are expensive so would rather drive places ourselves.
I really want to see the glacial lagoon at Jokulsarlon, but am wondering if the drive is too much to do in three days. I don't want to feel like we spent two days in the car, just driving, with no time to stop and see anything along the way. BTW, we would spent the first day in Reykjavik.
I am open to all suggestions about how to spend our three days. Mostly I want to know if the drive to the lagoon is too ambitious and perhaps I should save it for my next trip to Iceland.
Iceland: 3 days: Reykjavik, Golden Circle, Jokulsarlon?
