I need someone to second this

I like visiting France. I like the people, the food and I love the wine. However, I wish they would get rid of the bedit and install ceiling fans in their hotel rooms!!!!! Anyone agree?

What value does this post have except to start an arguement?

If you don't like the hotel facilities stay elsewhere.

Do you mean "bidet"? I don't think a ceiling fan would be much of a substitute, if so.

The bidet isn't hurting you in any way, and not many hotels anywhere have ceiling fans.

The bidet and the ceiling fan, while both highly useful items, are hardly interchangeable!

What good is a bidet on the ceiling? Funny picture though.

Also, I have to ask a question I have always been curious about. When we were in Italy, there were these strange contraptions in the bathrooms...which i didnt think were bidets, (but maybe Im ignorant). They were shallow toilet shaped things with a "faucet" with a swively head. But the water poured out, like out of a sink. I kind of thought bidets squirted water, these gushed water. What was it?

The reason, you silly people, is that Air-Conditioning is not that popular in France and and ceiling fan is something that I could use on a warm night. A bedit is something I trip over walking to the toilet in the middle of the night.

I'll second it as long as I don't have to sit on the ceiling fan.

You can tie your socks to the ceiling fan to make them dry faster!

Jumping in the shower doesn't really do the job of a bidet.

Handstands in a shower might.

It is bidet and it is quite functional. It is so you don't have to take 5 showers a day to feel squeaky clean and oh so refreshed. Water is not an endless commodity so it makes sense to me.

Besides...I have heard that there are other functions that many Fodorites have admitted to using the bidet for such as washing socks and feet...a ledge for shaving legs and I even heard that you can add a few buckets of ice and viola...it is a wine chiller.
