I have tweaked, poked, stung, whipped...
goosed and prodded the Internet for a list of the Palladian villas on the Brenta Canal and a map showing their locations (found a teeny weeny one on an Italian website, but it's illegible), all to no avail.

Does anyone know where to find this info on the web? I already have a request into the tourist bureau for a boxcar of information; hopefully, it will be in there, but if not, I need help!

Elvira, apparently the Michelin Green Guide has quite a lot on the Brenta Riveria and canal/river corridor. Don't know, haven't seen it.

There's also a map of some (all?) of the locations at http://www.boglewood.com/palladio/map.html

I haven't visited any of these but now am planning the trip. Money is the only barrier I've identified.

One of these might help:

http://www.cyberlogic.it/villaemo/dove_i.htm

http://andrea.gsd.harvard.edu/palladio/places.htm

The latter is attached to a good site about Palladio, so even if you don't like the map, it's worth a look.

BTW, one thing that's confusing is that some of the villas are known by alternate names, eg., the Villa Foscari/Villa Malcontenta.

Thank you both for your replies!

John, the Michelin Guide is great - I was really hoping I wouldn't have to photocopy for the other 6 women on the trip, but I guess I'll have to...

KT, the cyberlogic site is incredible (a list, a map - 'course, I looked at the date "drawn in 1927" and thought "oh isn't there something more current?" Uh huh yeah like the villas have been moved in the last 73 years)

I found the andrea site yesterday, and they info is incredible (good pictures, too).

Elvira---- I am going to step into your post for a minute because I have to let KT know that the site she recommended to you (andrea) COMPLETELY BLEW ME AWAY!! What a site! Aereal photograph combined with cyberlogic mapping technology. Unbelievable. Venice lovers will be blown away as well.

Here are 24 villas. When looking for things like this, try a search engine called "google.com" It seems to find obscure data better than any other. I've found all kinds of websites for Italian Hotels, restaurants, etc. on this engine. Good luck. http://www.unesco.org/whc/sites/712.htm

OK you've all given me a good shake; I forgot the primary rule of good research: don't get caught up in linear thinking. I sez I sez How did that KT person find what I couldn't? aHA you see I was using PalladIAN, over and over. I just tried PalladIO and found
http://www.ashmm.com/cultura/palladio/homefruk.htm as well as all the others mentioned.

Thanks for not only the info requested, but for the collateral info as well.
