I had no trouble booking on Renfe, but cannot PRINT the tickets
I have tried opening the Atch - did not work, then I e-mailed Renfe - they sent me a page of info what to do and how to print using a different access . Did no work.
Then, I tried printing with different browsers and on a different computer ( we have a Mac)
Nothing worked , I am getting "server error" whatever I do.
Any ideas?

I don't know Macs, but there should be some type of error message as to why you can't open something, isn't there? I know there always is when I can't open a PDF on my Dell PC.
If you can't, you can get the tickets at a station, although maybe it's a nuisance. I know I booked AVE tickets online and had to go pick them up in person at the train station in Seville. There was a kind of long line, but no problem doing that.

thanks Cristina, I have tried another computer (other than Mac),removing block for pop-ups , Firefox and Internet Explorer, another way of printing ( without opening Atch)
but nothing worked. "Server error" is what I get each time.
Picking up tickets in Madrid seems to be the only option.

If you need to, you can pick the tickets up at the Renfe office in the terminal when you land land in Madrid. There's one in T1 and one in T4. You'll need the reference number and credit card you used to purchase the tickets with.
Regarding printing the PDF file on your Mac. Once you've purchased the tickets, the PDF file is sent automatically to your computer. The default location for the file on a Mac should be the Downloads folder. Hopefully you know where it's located. If you have an older version of Acrobat Reader, the Renfe PDF may not work. You'll have to download the latest version. Your Mac should also have Preview, Apple's own PDF reader.
Firefox, Safari and Opera all work fine with Renfe.

you usually can retrieve your printed tickets from a self serve kiosk in ANY renfe station using the locator number. takes just a minute, and if you then have trouble, skip the lines and go straight to customer service ( atención del cliente) and hopefully it will be taken care of quickly

After some problems with printing, I decided to wait for 60 days before the trip date and try again - it worked!
I had to unblock the pop-up windows on Firefox and "allow" Renfe under "exceptions".
Buying tickets at 60% discount was worth the trouble!

I had a similar problem with printing my ticket.
Rail Europe website has a "Contact us" link which leads you to a page "Need assistance?". Select the option "Already Booked" and from the drop down menu select "Send Us a message". I selected the options "I had problems using your website" Mention your booking number and that you can't access the ticket.
I got my ticket in pdf format by email within a few minutes!
