Richard

Sorry I can't recommend a pit stop along the way, but once you get to Strasbourg don't miss dinner at Burestubel in Pfulgrieshiem, just north of Strasbourg. Best meal we had in Europe and not expensive. Closed Mon. and Tues. 03 88 20 01 92.

Let me know how you like it.

Bon Appetit!

Once out of Paris, the traffic thins somewhat. Nancy is about 2/3 of the way to Strasbourg and makes a fine place to stop, rest, and stretch your legs. Numerous good places to eat are around Place Stanislaus, the central square and one of the most magnificent municipal sites in all of France. From Nancy into Strasbourg the traffic increases, the land becomes more hilly, and you will be prepared to face the congestion of the city, having rested in Nancy.

I've read that the Brasserie Excelsior in Nancy, near Place STanislas is just excellent and not to be missed.
Ellen

being both town last summer I highly recommend the stop be in Nancy---beautiful square-Place Stanislaus.
Nancy is the home Art deco and shown throught the homes in Nancy.
the drive through is beautiful--be sure to visit Colmar....

Reims has lots of great restaurants and while you are there try one of the Champagne Tours at Tattingers!

Has anyone done this? Is there a good place to park your car (train station?) and leave it and take train into Paris? I am thinking of doing this in reverse.
