HI folks. My fiance and will be in Hvar in August. Two questions:
Is it easy to rent a car in Hvar? I've heard it is. Looking for confirmation.
What part of the island would be the best for quiet and easy beach access? Ideally we'd like an apartment on the beach, away from the parties, but be able to access parties when we want. Suggestions? Thanks!
Hvar for 4 nights

Hi Randy,
we were in Hvar last August for a whole week. Our initial idea was to find an apartment and rent a car ... but we ended up staying at a hotel and not touching a car in the whole week. We stayed at the Podstine and loved it, because it wasn´t right in town and it has its own "beach". Not really a beach, I don´t think that there are big sandy beaches in Hvar. The hotel had sunbeds under the pines and there was easy access to the water.
The last months before the holidays were quite stressful at work, so we spent the time relaxing in the sunbeds, walking into town during mornings and using the spa facilities. In the evenings we used to walk down, have dinner, go for a couple of drinks and return by taxi to the hotel.
It was a really good week, even if we didn´t do many of the things we were planning.
Bye, Cova
Thanks, Cova. That hotel looks wonderful but it's just a little out of our price range for 4 nights. Of course the car rental plus apartment rental might end up being the same as booking at the hotel. Decisions! ANy apartment on the beach suggestions out there?
Do you want to be in Hvar town or are you considering being in a small town?
It should be easy to rent a car for a day trip or two. You may want to reserve it since it is high season.
Most apartments will be within walking distance of town and a beach. the best beaches will be reached by taking a boat excursion or driving.
