Hi,
I was wondering if i could please have some advise from travelers who have experienced traveling in Norway. I plan to spend about 1 week in Norway, sometime between april and july, as follows:
- Oslo
- Nærøyfjord & Aurlandsfjord & Stegastein View Point
- Odda - Trolltunga
- Lysefjorden - kjeragbolten (the kjerag bolt)
- Forsand - preikestolen (pulpit rock)
questions:
- what is the minium amount of time i will need for each destination? (please include in detail: traveling times and hiking time to reach destinations)
- what factors will be different traveling in april or may or june or july?
- what is the fastest way to travel to each destination? i dont have a car and i think plane will be too expensive.
- i also wish to go glacier walking (only a 2 hour adventure). hopefully somewhere close along my route. any suggestions?
many thanks ![]()

May is full spring blossom which is spectacular in Norway. June and July will normally be warmer (about 70F) and the days are long and bright, only some 4-5 hours dark at night as south as Oslo.
The 17th of May is the National Day. Celebrated heavily all over the country. http://www.visitnorway.com/en/About-Norway/History/Norways-national-day/
For the best advice on traveling in Norway, I suggest you go to Tripadvisor's Norway forum. There are a number of experts there that can answer your questions. I found them extremely helpful when I was working on my itinerary for Norway.
