In August my bf is taking me to Ireland to meet his family for a month, we will be staying at his parents house to. He's being very vague on what to pack as he won't be bringing much because most of his clothes are at home. I don't know the first thing about Ireland except about his family.. I'm from Australia so I'm use to the heat as well Advise would be great!

Layers. A Lightweight waterproof jacket. Sensible comfortable shoes. And a BF sensible enough to offer help and advice.
It will not be hot.
It will most likely be coolish or can be slightly warmish. It will be damp - yes, most of the time. Many (most) days you will have mist, drizzle, light rain - and every once in a while a downpour. There will be sunny intervals. Often you will get all of these in one day.
Bring 2 pair of waterproofed walking shoes a light rain jacket with a hood and a sturdy folding umbrella. Bring some short sleeve tops, some long sleeve and a couple light sweaters. Bring something besides jeans (which are nasty when wet and take forever to dry). You can then layer as needed.
Unless you are going to a specific special event - dress is very casual.
Hi Kristy93,
"What to expect?" RAIN, but oh, when the sun comes out and the droplets cover the flowers and greenery - it's beautiful!
Enjoy Ireland...
