How to get from Palermo to Segesta/Trapani

Hi,
We will be in Palermo in early April and want to do a day trip to Segesta, Trapani and maybe Erice. What is the best or fastest way to get there? I was looking for trains that ran to Trapani, but can't seem to find any info.

You take a bus to Trapani. You can change there for a bus to Erice. I believe there may be a bus to Segesta, but didn't take that. Click on my name for my Sicily TR - Palermo to Erice is near the end. Personally, I rate both Trapani and Erice as worth more than a day trip, and doing both in one day would be rushing it.

There are also trains from Palermo to Trapani, though the buses are probably quicker. They're regional trains so there are no advance reservations.

Trapani from Palermo: www.segesta.it
Erice from Trapani: www.aziendasicilianatrasporti.it
Segesta from Trapani or Palermo: www.tarantolabus.it

On the Tarantolabus website, note VERY carefully the seasonality and days of week when services are offered.

Hi

I would definitely rent a car

The roads are great and gorgeous and Segesta is a little isoated and the country side is beautiful. You also would not waste time

You did not say if you were on your own or not-but for 2 people it makes sense

It seems like the bus will be the faster option? I will check to see if they all run on the dates that I need. Unfortunatly we only have the one day at our disposal to do the trip, otherwise we would try to spend more time in the area. There are four of us traveling, but it doesn't really make sense to rent a car for only one day.

Thank you all for your help!
