How to get from Milan to Riomaggiore (Cinque Terre)
I will be staying right by Milan Central Station and am traveling on my own. Looking for info, as detailed as possible, on how do get from Milan to Riomaggiore. Even need to know if I should be buying all or just some of the train tickets prior to leaving (Sept 6).

Take any Genoa bound train and change there to a train to La Spezia. If this latter doesn't stop at Riomaggiore, changae either at Monterosso or at La Spezia. There are also some direct Milan - Monterosso - La Sezia trains.
You may get some discounted fares for IC trains in the web: http://orario.trenitalia.com
The fares for Regional trains are always the same: buy the ticket at a ticket machine and stamp it before boarding the train.

You don't necessarily have to change at Genoa. You can search the train timetables here:

Just type in from "Milan" and to "Riomaggiore." You can't search the date Sept. 6th yet, but April 5th (also a Friday) will give you a very good idea of your options. You'll see some combinations involve a single change at La Spezia or Sestri Levante.
