Hi, I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to book the hop on hop off tour Bus/Boat in Rome?
I understand that you can get a 24hr ticket that allows you to visit tourist sites by boat and bus - but can't seem to find anywhere to book it?
any advice would be appreicated.

I am not aware of any 24 hour tickets for bus and boat.
The tourist office runs an open hop on/hop off bus (#110)through the central historic area and to the Vatican, and another Archeobus that goes down to the Appian Way and the aqueducts.
There are a number of special passes for public transit
http://www.rome.info/transportation/tickets/and for museums

or for a combination

There are also boat trips on the Tiber (a shuttle and day trips to Ostia Antica) but I don't think these are combined with any of the other options
Try this website:

On the homepage, click the link for Rome and then you can scroll down to see the link to hop-on-hop-off bus tours.
The official Rome Tourism board has a link on their transportation page and they explain the different sightseeing busses.

thanks, advice much appreciated.
I'm not aware of the boat - but we used the bus. There are numerous stops around the City (we got a map from our hotel)and we purchased our ticket right there. The 24 hour pass was great for us - we could get off and walk to sites and then get back on. Sit up top if you can - you can see so much more!
We did the Red Bus tour in Rome and you can get a ticket at any of the stops (look for the red bus signs posted on the street). Their website shows the stops so you can find the one closest to where you'll be but I didn't see a boat combo ticket.
