How to best spend 2 days following Ischia?

Joining my husband on a business trip to Ischia for 5 days. Italy is my absolute favorite country, but we have never been to Ischia or the Amalfi Coast area. If you had 2 or 3 nights following a trip to Ischia, how would you spend it in that region? Where would you base yourself along the Amalfi? I think I would prefer to do that rather than stay in Naples. Suggestions? BTW, this will be at the end of Sept./beginning of Oct.

I might suggest Positano. From there, you can catch a boat to Capri or to the town of Amalfi, if the weather is good and boats are running. You can also bus to Amalfi, or to Sorrento.

I would go to either Ravello or Salerno. I'd pick Ravello if I wanted an elite, superquiet, other worldly experience of Amalfi; Salerno if I wanted to see Pompeii and a side of the Amalfi most tourists don't.

You can probably take day trip to Napoli from Ischia and I highly recommend you consider it. See Capella San Severo and the archeological museum.

You can probably also take a ferry to Capri from Ischia.

How would you spend the day on Capri? I am assuming that the ferries still run with a fairly regular schedule in September.
