How Super is the Super U chain in France?

Hello, all. We're getting to the "less than 5 months to go so we're gearing up the research" phase of an 18-day stay in/near Villefranche-sur-mer and Beaulieu-sur-mer, France.

We've learned that there is a location of the supermarket chain Super U/Marche U/Hyper U in Beaulieu. What I'm wondering is, does this resemble a typical North American supermarket in that it carries all kind of non-food related items?

I'm specifically looking for somewhere I could buy a blow dryer for my hair should my lightweight plastic diffuser adapter not fit the one at the villa we're renting. I really don't want to lug my fairly old, heavy dual-voltage dryer from Canada. In addition to the weight, it's just too hot when used on EU voltage, even on low - while in Italy a few years ago, I came close to burning my scalp and hand many times.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Better a good dryer since the Super U probably won't help. This is a lower part of Carrefour but they don't have all of the small items.

A bit higher you might find some Champion, which is higher in the system. Carrefour would be the place to buy your dryer.

LeClerc is a good store for what you need. Intermarche might help you too. Auchan has everything you'll need.

And there's a lot of smaller places which will provide small appliances.

A Hyper-U will have everything you need (like a Wal-Mart). Super-U and Marché-U are just 'normal' supermarket/food stores. They will have toiletries and such but not appliances.

Thank you both, I appreciate the help.

We've been told that the store in Beaulieu is a Marche U - but I may be able to find what's needed in Nice, if I can't live without it. Luckily, with my naturally curly hair, I can go for a while before blow-drying becomes a must, especially if it's at all humid where I am.

I will keep my eyes open in Nice for a LeClerc or Auchan store. Heck, I'll be shopping in Nice (and anywhere else we roam) just because we love shopping!

Besides Leclerc and Auchan, the other places to look for are Carrefour and Géant.
