We are in port from a Princess Cruise ship for a day in May (May17) and would like to use our time wisely. We have planned a Princess excursion from 1:00-5:00 to Nice from Monte Carlo. We have a couple of hours before and after this excursion. Would we be better off staying in Monte Carlo and skipping this Nice excursion, seeing Eze or going ahead with our planned trip to Nice and not see much of MC? We know little about this area, so would love some advice from anyone who has been there. Thanks for your help!
How much time is needed to see Monte Carlo, Nice and or Eze?

Old town in Nice is half a day, minimum, the beach is nice, but really rocky. Eze by bus probably would be a better bet.
Four hours for Nice seems awfully short! I just spent six nights there for the second time. Eze is very touristy and crowded. You can get to Nice very easily from MC on the train and bus - no need for an excursion.
See as much as you can of Nice and forget Monte Carlo.
I agree.....Nice is great and Eze is worth a couple of hours but be sure to get the bus out at last call or you will be taxiing at a very high cost! Monte Carlo is worth skipping!!
Agree with the others about Nice, much more to see and do than MC. Don't see how you'd have time to do Eze, too much time on the road getting there and back.
Also with Thursdaysd except that if you're signed up for an escorted excursion, it will maximize what you get to see and do in your four hours. There's a lot to do in Nice and having an escort is ok for your first visit and with so little time. You'll want to go back to really enjoy this city.
I am in Nice now. I am spending 6 nights, departing tomorrow back to Texas. I have been here dozens of times and it is still my favorite place on the Cote d' Azur. Monaco is okay for a few minutes, but the old town in Nice is great!
I would skip Nice, visit Monaco and spend a couple of hours in Eze village.
I live in Eze.
Another vote for Nice. Absolutely my favorite city on the Cote d'Azur.
I have been going for the last few years and spending about 10 days there each trip, A fabulous town.
Hi,
Monte Carlo is rather boring...have a look at the boats in the marina (dont eat at ANY of the tacky cafe's with the miserable service along the marina), walk up to the Hotel de Paris (Casino) and that's it really apart from the gardens if you really want....good to watch the expensive cars driving around and you get used to the sound of a Ferarri engine very quickly...
Eze is delightful if hard work to get to the top ..but you must do it..have a drink at the Chateau d'Eza which is right at the top above the Chateau de le Chevre D'Or
Get a bus or train back to Nice and have a stroll around the charming old town (Vielle Ville)...or if its a Monday the Antique market in Place des Fleurs is worth a mooch around...
If you have time go to Antibes old town...about 15 minutes on a train from the SNCF station in Nice.
Lovely part of the world......enjoy
