How much should I expect to pay in fees for flights.com?

I just found a RT flight from Washington, DC to London for $531. How much extra should I expect to pay in fees? Is it worth it?

I'm about to call flights.com to ask, but it would still be nice to get the feedback if anyone has any experience with this. I should also mention that the $531 includes taxes, but they also mention that there are fees, but don't include them until you book.

I just called and she said it varies, but about $16 for security and $15 for shipping. I thought the alternative to shipping was regular mail, but it turns out it's going to the New York office to pick them up. This brings the total to about $562. From reading the other posts, it seems that fees can vary from ticket to ticket for no particular reason. Does the $31 extra for security and shipping sound right?

One other thing. This is for May and I chose a departure date on a Saturday and a return date on a Sunday, so I'm thinking that the price is pretty good for that assuming that the fees won't be exorbitant.

Never mind. Unless there's a way to back out of it once you've booked the flight, I don't want to know.

Well, that was quick. Just to follow up, my reservation has been confirmed and it was only $546! This is for a roundtrip nonstop flight from Washington to London leaving on a Saturday and coming back the Sunday before Memorial Day. AND it's with Virgin Atlantic so I think I get FF miles for Continental. I guess we'll see how it pans out.

I'll have seven full days in London so I'm sure I'll be bugging everyone about everything having to do with London over the coming weeks.
