How much money do I need for 2 weeks in Rome and Naples?
My wife and I will be leaving in early March for 1 week in Rome, 1 in Naples and 2 days in Amalfi. No Souveneirs just food and wine mainly plus some museums. Hotels are pre paid and airfare. Thanks for the help.

I realize this is just my style, but I make sure there is $3000 or so in my checking account, which is much more than I need, and then I take it out in $500 increments, as needed.
I never really know how much I'll need. It depends on how upscale I want my restaurants to be.

I agree with Peg's number and the comment "I never really know how much I'll need."
We're not foodies but also don't like to 'eat cheap' while on vacation. Some days we spend/eat more, some days we spend/eat less.
Your pre-paid hotel may include breakfast, but you may want to make an afternoon coffee or wine stop. Especially if it's cold like it is currently in Rome and Naples. You should also assume you'll take the occasional taxi.

I assume you ask this question because you don't have a bottomless pit of money and wouldn't be visiting top end restaurants and hotels. Also, when considering costs I always work in the currency of the place I'm visiting.
I have not visited Italy since 2008 but was in France and Germany late last year and they would be comparable.
I think you need to budget a minimum of 15euro for a meal per person, 2-3euro for a drink (coffee, house wine, beer), 1-2euro gelato, 5-7euro panini. Museums vary a lot but typically around 8-10 euro and costs are online anyway if you know which ones you want to visit. And, of course, you can pay a lot more for expensive restaurants or tourist locations.

I usually travel solo and stay in comfortable, centrally-located but not luxury hotels, and I budget approx $1000 per week for hotels, food, transportation (on the ground, not incl air), sightseeing, entrance fees, etc. For two of you, with hotels pre-paid, I'd suggest you plan for $150 per day total for two, which may be generous, depending upon your dining choices, or may be cutting it close. You can control costs by setting up a plan in advance: 'we will have -xx- meals in more expensive restaurants and -xx- meals in less expensive restaurants,' etc. Food and wine will probably be your major expenses, considering your hotels are prepaid.
