I have a very heavy Travelpro, but I have been traveling with a Tumi wheeled bag for several years that weights in at about 7-1/2 pounds. That was shredded on a recent trip to Australia, so I'm looking for another. I wouldn't buy one that weighted more than 8 pounds.

Mine weighs 7 pounds,Rick Steves brand.It's very easy to put in the over head compartment too as it has a strong handle on the bottom.

My 20-inch bag weighs 7 pounds, also. When fully packed for a two-week trip in November it weighed 19.7 pounds.

My brand new Heys 21" Bellezza weighs 2,9kg (6.3 oz) and it
has an adorable Beauty Case that is 1,3kg(2.8) oz. They are
hard-sided and the Carry-on has the spinner wheels. The
best part (to me) is that they are a lovely turquoise blue
- gonna be hard to lose these beauties!

Mine weighs about 7-8 pounds. 10 pounds is heavy for that size.

In fairness to Travelpro, the 20" rollaboard is officially listed at 9.6 lbs, not 10 lbs.

Perhaps I should have invested in a lighter brand. It occurs to me that flight crews rarely lift their bags into overhead bins!

I always check the weight of any carry on bag before purchase if possible. Ebags usually has specs on their bags including weight. I always try to travel as light as possible so a couple of pounds makes a big difference.

I have the same Rick Steve's bag as mentioned earlier, so 7 pounds. It is 21" and I can take it with 2 weeks of stuff and it comes in at under 18 pounds total.

This 22" LL Bean bag only weighs 6 lbs. 3 oz. I looked it over closely at the LL Bean store in my area, and thought it was very nice. Had all the features I wanted, except that it has no tie-down thingies inside so everything could shift around if you didn't pack it tightly (at least that is what I would be afraid of). Seems like they have had a few comments about that on their website, so I am thinking maybe next year they will add those.

It is actually very similar to the 7 lb. Rick Steves bag, which I also have and like very much, except for the extra long handle (the one you pull it with). Good for a tall person I guess, not so much for a shortie like me.

I seem to be on an endless search for the "perfect" lightweight suitcase.

New 360-degree wheelie; 7.2 lbs. Was pretty easy to slide into the overhead. I was able to pack more into it than I though it would, BUT...

...still doesn't pack as well or as much as my old ugly green Samsonite carry-on (11 heavy lbs).

Forgot to add brand, Doug: Ricardo Superlite. Had to grab something quickly at Marshall's because a carryall that I had taken to the destination had developed serious zipper issues and would not survive the trip home on the plane. This one just seemed to fit the bill at around $59. I think it's a 24", though. I just stood it up next to my aforementioned old green one.

I just bought a Ricardo Superlight but haven't used it yet. Mine is 20".

Nicki--The handle on my bag has two lengths. You can stop it halfway or make it extend the full amount. I am short so always stop it at the midway point.

The thing I don't like about it is that it has a suit compartment on the top lid that is not "zip out" removable. In other words, since I don't pack suits, extra weight and a bit of room are devoted to a non essential for me.

I want just a big box with a top opening zipper as long/wide as the actual suitcase, on wheels. No pockets except for an outside one or two. And I will take those 360 wheels. They are nice.
