Hello,
We are ariving at malpensa airport at 11.30pm and are not sure
what we should do.
Being that late and the first time we have travelled out of
Australia we dont want
to catch the train into town.
Does anyone know the approx price to get into town by taxi?
Its gonna have to be that or a private driver and both are
rather expensive.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks.
how many euro from malpensa airport to milan central by taxi?

I am sure if you even have a choice other than a taxi or other small vehicle type of arrangements.
The usual low cost mass transits do not run much past your arrival:
Train:
http://www.lenord.it
Malpensa - Milano Cadorna 23:53 last train
Bus:
http://www.malpensashuttle.it/mxp-mil.htm
Malpensa - Milano Centrale 0:15 last bus from T1
Hi Stocaz - A prebooked limo service would be in the range € 70-100, I believe.
Hope this helps ...
Steve
i was quoted 80 euro here for last summer.
we thought that was a bit high, so we took the malpensa shuttle (bus) instead.
it was about 10 euro each.
it was extremely crowded (every seat filled) and a bit smelly, i have to say. our family of 4 had to split up and take the last 4 seats available. so not the most pleasant experience for us, but others on this forum seem to have enjoyed it.
At that hour, I'd arrange for a driver to meet your flight. Then, if there's a flight delay, you don't have to worry about missing the last public trans.
Regarding the train from Malpensa to the Cadora Nord station, depending on the date of your trip, the last train may be 1:30 a.m. Go to the link Greg provided and search your arrival date AND also after midnight on the next day.
Another option is to spend the first night at a hotel near Malpensa. I know, not how you wanted to start, but depending on your routing from Australia you might prefer dealing with this last bit of logistics in daylight with a clearer head.
I meant to add that if you choose to have a driver meet your flight, be sure the reception desk at your hotel in Milan is staffed 24/7 and that they are aware of your anticipated late arrival.
Thanks for the reply's
do you think there will be a few taxi's waiting around midnight?
How buzy is malpensa?
I got quoted from here (through an agent)
about 150 euro for a private driver,so I think
a taxi might be a better option as long as there available
Earlier this month (May 2009) the rate posted in the taxis was 80 euro. The bus to Milan Central was 7.5. The train to/from Cardona station was maybe 11 for first class.
