How many days of stay in these cities, any suggestions ?

Hello All,

My trip to Romania will start in the coming July. I will from Belgrade to Timisoara , Arad, Sibiu, Brasov , Bucharest and Constanta.

However, I have no idea which cities should stay longer and which one should skip. My family prefer to visit the Black sea.

Do you have any experience that can share with me or any good suggestion ?

Hope to hear your voice.

Thanks a lot.

Gavin

Two days for Sibiu at a minimum (the museum was closed whenwe were there), with a good half day spent at the skansen.

Two or three days in Brasov. One for the city, one for Bran and the castle above Brasov, and another one for the fortified churches area.

I was just in Romania, suggest you read my TR: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...a-take-two.cfm

I preferred Brasov to Sibiu. Don't miss the side trip from Brasov to Sinaia. Timisoara was in the middle of renovating two of its main squares when I was there. Hopefully it will be finished by the time you get there. Why Arad?

I did not visit Constanta but friends of mine did and were not impressed. I did visit the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria - and Crimea and Georgia - and was not impressed either. If your family wants to spend time at the beach I would go west from Belgrade, not east.

Not too many beaches on the Croatian side of the Adriatic.

ah but loads of islands with lots of little coves. Certainly I'd rather bathe in the Adriatic than the Black sea.

But given that the OP is going from Belgrade, on the eastern border of Serbia, to Romania, does it really make sense to spend a full day of travel to go westward to the Adriatic--and then double back to get to Romania?

If the OP is from Serbia, I would think that the Adriatic is an option for another vacation.

Thanks the above all.

Also, Arad and Timsoara ? Which city is worth to stay ?
As I will travel from Belgrade to Romania, the first stop may be Arad or Timisoara. I have no idea which city is better?
Any idea ? thanks.

I really liked Timisoara. Friends of mine did not like Arad. I only saw the area around Arad train station.

I was not suggesting substituting the Adriatic for the Black Sea on this trip. If the OP's family wants a seaside vacation they should not go to Romania.
