How many days in Krakow?
As of now, i'm planning to spend 4 days in Krakow, with a day trip to Auschwitz...is this long enough - i'm hoping somebody that was recently there can compare this length of time to their trip...

We were in Krakow in spring 2006. I think we spent three days there, and that was probably enough. It is a lovely place, with some wonderful churches, many of them with interiors by the artist of the "Young Poland" movement. I thought they were quite distinctive and beautiful.
When I look at my guide to Poland, I can see that there is much more that is worth seeing, but our time was limited, so we visited only Krakow.

I was there for four days, including a day for Auschwitz, and found it to be a reasonable amount of time. I could indeed have stayed even longer, but I was able to do quite a lot in that time. If you'd like to read about it, the trip report is here:

Hi Worldview. We have been to Kracow twice, three days each time. In addition to Auschwitz [a must] you could visit the SALT MINES [incredible] or Czestochowa where the BLACK MADONNA is located. Some people just like to see the highlights, while others like to lounge. We would like to visit Krakow again if time/schedule permits. Keypunch Krakow into 'yahoo' or 'google' and you will receive much information. Also inyourpocket.com you can download much information ENJOY Iris

if you go to the salt mines, you don't need to do an organized tour. We just asked at the hotel and they told us which local bus to take. Then when we got there we bought tickets and there were times posted for when the next tour was that was in English. It was fascinating.
