How many days for Prague

Would appreciate Fodorites perspective on the right amount of time for a visit to Prague. Was thinking three days in late July.

That sounds like a good time for many people. Obviously, you don't like hanging around cities that much when you travel, or you would have decided on more time yourself. I think for many folks 3-4 days is about right.

Hi J,

We were not bored with 4 nights in Prague.

We, too, found 4 nights to be perfect - lots to see, experience and do!

We did 3 nights. When we travel, we mostly like smaller cities, towns and the countryside and 3 was enough for us.

Unless you fall in love with Prague like we did, 3-4 days will be fine. We had four days and when it came time to go to the train station for our trip to Vienna, we wished we had another week!

I have a long file on Prague and will be happy to send it to you if you like. I've been having problems with my e-mail, but I'll do my best to get it to you if you're interested.

We spent 3-1/2 days in Prague last November and were able to visit all the better known sights, and a few of the lesser visited ones as well. We did not take any daytrips out of the city.

3/4 is the minimum - esp if you like music. The umber and variety of musical offerings in Prague is incredible - qualityy good and some things you don;t see everywhere. And prices are dirt cheap. Check out the info office in the Town Hall for masses of info.

Also - we found a walking tour of the Old Town esp fascinating. Again info in Town Hall.

We are going to be in Prague in AUgust for 5 nights and since you mentioned music we are hoping to take in a classical concert.Would you recommend a church or concert theatre. I have checked Prague Experience and advance planning seems limited and it seems ample music choices are available in small/large churches and parks etc but would like advice on a quality performance in a good location.

I think three nights is perfect. With more, I would suggest you explore other great destinations nearby.

Expect crowds. Prague has become a very busy place. If you have a particular place that you want to stay, consider reserving as soon as possible.
