How long and what is the best way to go from Athens airport to Rafina?

We are arriving in Athens in early July at about 1:30pm from Canada and want to know the approximate time and the different ways to get to Rafina for a ferry leaving at 4:00pm.

Also, do you need to pick up the tickets at a certain location outside the port, as one needs to do at Piraeus?

Thanks.

KTEL operates an express bus service from the airport to Rafina. The service operates every 40 minutes on a daily basis, from 6:00am to 9:20pm.

Buy your tickets from the kiosk outside Arrival Door 5 and validate them inside the bus in the little machine. Cost is somewhere around 3 euro per ticket and the trip takes roughly an hour.

Also, in busy July you'll save time and hassle if you buy your tickets in advance. You can purchase them online from the Amphitrion Holidays website and pick them up at the airport upstairs from Arrivals at their travel desk in the Main Hall between Exit/Entry doors 2&3. One of you can go upstairs to get your ferry tickets while the other waits for your luggage.

Bus or taxi to Rafina takes about 20 minutes.

Lee, have Amphitrion Holidays moved their travel desk? Until last summer they were on the ground floor (Arrivals level).

Now I'm confused. Are we talking about the same level? To me the Arrivals level is the lower level where you pick up your bags upon arrival and the Main Hall where Amphitrion Holidays is located is also the Departure level. Am I mixing the two?

You come out of Arrivals on the ground floor, then go up the escalator to Departures. All the shops on the Departures level are past the ticket counters between domestic and international departure gates. On the Arrivals level are exits to buses and taxis, with banks, travel agents, car rental companies, etc. along the corridor (unless I'm the one who is confused).
