I just saw some decent fares to London on US Air. Has anyone ever used this airline internationally?

I've used USAir several times for overseas travel. I went to London and Frankfurt last year. And just returned from Frankfurt a few weeks ago. For where I live (North Carolina), they seem to have the best deals. I haven't had any problems with flights or connections.

Yes, we took USAirways to London last summer and were very pleased. They used airbus 330's which have individual video screens that were lots of fun and had lots of programming choices -- like an individual VCR, you could start a movie any time and even pause or rewind it. Food was unmemorable (we usually bring our own anyway).<BR><BR>

I flew PHL to Rome. The journey was okay - no different than TWA, LOT, Lufthansa that I also flew internationally.

I;ve flown USAir on trips to Frankfurt and Rome. As the above poster said, they use the Airbus 330 on some routes - it's a decent plane. Flights were on time, no problems. And I for one, don't choose an airline based on the quality of the food it serves.

For what it's worth, I always try to fly the airline of the destination I'm off to. It's a bit like being there a bit earlier and a tad longer. (Unless, of course, the fare is significantly greater.)

It's practically "the only show in town" here in Pgh. so, of course, we use it almost anytime we fly anywhere. On our trip to Italy last spring, Philly airport (where we had to change planes for Rome) was closed due to thunderstorm, and they very smoothly rerouted us directly to Frankfurt then on to Rome on Alitalia. Only got to Rome a couple of hours after originally expected.

We always use USAir, and have never had any problems with them. On a flight home (to Philly) from Paris, my video screen on the seat in front of me didn't work. They gave me a mini portable tv/vcr with a bunch of movies to choose from (better selection than the one on the seat!). Then they gave me a $75 travel voucher for the inconvenience - and I didn't even complain. We are flying USAir to London on Friday, which will put us over the top for a FF mile trip to Europe next summer!

We usually fly British Air to London because we have FF miles, however, took a great rate last year on US and had a terrific trip on the Airbus 330. Everything previous posters said. One downside (to me)--it goes to Gatwick, not Heathrow. Lots of people have no problem, or even prefer, Gatwick, but I like Heathrow.<BR><BR>Also, when one major airline offers a deal, many others will follow suit, so you might want to take those fares to BA or another airline you like and ask them if they can match it.

We used US Airways to Paris and they are on-time, helpful and friendly (ok...as helpful and friendly as they get!). We would fly them again with hesitation.

My wife and I flew US Air from Charlotte to Paris and from Munich to Philadelphia to Charlotte last September after the 11th.<BR>The flights both ways were near full.<BR>No problems.<BR><BR>We have planned the same trip pattern for this next trip.

Have made several trips with US Air overseas and it has always been fine. The 330 has the most leg room of all airlines (34" I think) and frankly on my trip to Paris the food was delicious. I'm a low maintenance passenger, so I can't tell you how helpful the attendants are, but I've not seen or heard difficulties. Their US flights are another thing. I've always found them crowded, late, just generally problemmatical, particularly from Baltimore.

Hi Vita: I agree with the above poster in that I like their international flights better than their domestic ones. We have had no major problems with the airline itself. We fly to Paris with US Airways about twice a year and used them for Rome, too.

WE flew USAir last summer to Munich them home from Rome. Smooth connections from Seattle to Philly to Munich. The flight crew form Rome to Philly was the kindest group of people I have encountered in the air! We had trouble with the inseat video thingie, too, but they fixed it (showing REMARKABLE patience with all the complaints and glitches with it)I would definitely fly with them again

we flew charlotte to gatwick direct in november and january, and will make another trip this weekend. the flights were not full and we were able to move to vacant seats and spread out both times. the first time we were lucky to have the airbus (private video screens and many music cd's and movies from which to choose; also has power plugs for computer), but it moves from hub to hub - right now it's in philly so we'll be traveling via a 767 which is not as nice. flights were on time both times and would recommend because the fares were under $400 each time.

Another vote for USAir. I have found their employees (from phone people, to gate people to whatever they call the airplane people) to be the greatest--kind, humorous, helpful. (Food not so great, but...)

Don't suppose this is relevant for all, but just found out that the non-stop PIT -CDG, which was discontinued as of 1/1/02, has been reinstated as of mid-March. I'm going in 2 wks and must change planes in PHL. So this is a real plus for those of us in W. PA.
