Sorry, just joking. But honestly, having done that a couple of times, the last time I decided to do EasyJet instead. Even adding in the time to get to and from the airports and the advance time required at the airport, door to door was quicker and much cheaper.
But to answer your question -- about 6 hours.

Can't help you much there as we've been staying in apartments in Nice. But we did stay at the Negresco our first trip there, and it is, of course, old world elegance.
What do you mean by good location? Near Old Nice? Along the beach? Near the train station?
