Hotels in Monaco/Nice- Please help!
Has anyone stayed at the Le Meriden hotel in either Nice or Monaco? We have Starwood hotel points to use and both hotels have not received the best ratings. I am getting kind of nervous. The most important features to me is cleanliness.... if anyone has stayed at either, please let me know what you thought.. Thanks in advance!

We stayed one time at the Le Meridien, and it was fine. The rooms facing the Promenade des Anglais have sea views; ours was decorated in blue and yellow, with Dufy prints on the walls. The bathroom was very large and all done in marble. We had no complaints at all about cleanliness and liked the bright halls.

I have two choices for the area.. either the Le Meridien in Nice or the one in Monaco... need to make a decision quickly.. the trip advisor reviews for both are making me a bit nervous... will need to book in the next day or two if anyone else has suggestions!

I stayed at Le Meridien in Monaco and it was great, very clean. A very nice hotel. The pool area was great and the beach was decent. The room was quite large as I recall.
I remember the hotel was a tad hard to navigatge b/c it was on different levels but that's Monaco for you.
The only other thing is that it is on the edge of town opposite from the yacht harbor and castle but everything was walkable.
I used points too and it was great. Monaco is great!
I loved Nice as well and you may find that a bit more centrally located.

There is way more to see and do in Nice than Monaco.Nice is a great central spot for taking the train or buses to places such as Cannes,ST Paul de Vence, Monaco or Menton along the coast. There is the beach area, the area known as Old Nice with great shops and restaurants, the castle area, etc. Monaco has the casinos and harbor with their castle. If you go to Monaco,be sure and hit the Oceanarium that was started by Prince Ranier's father at the turn of the century which Jacques Cousteau used to use as his laboratory. It is very interesting! Have lunch on the Oceanarium's rooftop overlooking the harbor with all the yachts and catch the fabulous views.Enjoy your trip as the area along the southern part of France is beautiful!

I haven't been in the Meridien in Nice, but the location is great, right on the Promenade des Anglais, very short walk to the old town. The building is not pretty, but I don't know what the rooms are like.
I don't know the Meridien in Monaco.
I think it comes down to where you want to be. Though Monaco for me is nice for a daytrip, I wouldn't want to spend more than two days there, whereas Nice has a lot to offer.
There's a Meridien in Juan les Pins too.
